Brenda Orlando is a Certified Public Accountant with over 32 years of experience. Brenda is a forensic accountant, and an expert witness with over 10,000 hours of litigation experience. She has been involved in hundreds of cases involving forensic accounting, business valuation, income determination for child support and alimony, fraud, separate property, trust and estate disputes, commercial litigation and criminal matters.

Brenda has been engaged and appointed an expert in the State of Michigan in Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Wayne, Alcona, Genesee, Saginaw, Ingham and Iosco Counties as well as Federal District Court. She has been appointed by judges and arbitrators as a discovery master, to value businesses, to determine income for child support and alimony, and to act as a court appointed neutral and monitor.   

Brenda also consults with privately held companies in matters of business valuation, merger and acquisition, and profit improvement.

We are a boutique firm specializing in accounting and consulting to closely held businesses and litigation support services.

For small to medium sized companies we provide traditional accounting services, as well as, part time CFO services. Our goal in this area is to provide insight beyond basic financial reporting. We look at trends in the company, as well as, the industry to advise our clients on how to be better.

Almost every civil and many criminal cases involve money or finances. Lawyers are trained to advocate for their clients position, but they are not always trained in the area of accounting and finance. They rely on experts to advise them and to quantify the monetary impact involved in their case.

Certified Public Accountants are bound by a code of ethics from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to be objective, professionally competent and independent. They can provide unbiased factual information to lawyers to assist them in trying their cases and provide expert testimony to judges and alternative dispute resolution professionals to assist them in determining the facts of a case. I am accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Business Valuation and have over 10,000 hours of litigation experience in the areas of divorce, forensic accounting and business valuation.

Brenda recently completed the requirements and training to become a Domestic Relations Mediator. She also received her CFF designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The CFF credential which stands for Certified in Financial Forensics is bestowed on Certified Public Accountants that demonstrate commitment to continuously improving forensic accounting skills and expertise through lifelong learning and litigation experience.
